An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the dynamic stroke pathway.

You will join a committed and experienced team who provide an integrated approach to stroke care delivery across the two hospital sites and community; these bases include both University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and Llandough (UHL).

As a Band 7, you will be a catalyst for change, promoting effective leadership and clinical delivery, optimising outcomes, and ensuring management of data including SSNAP.


Cardiff and Vale UHB is a unique teaching UHB, that provides tertiary, specialist, general acute, mental health and community services and has a renowned reputation for teaching, research and development.

We are excited to offer this full-time position within our forward-thinking stroke service. Your excellent communication and leadership skills will be a driving force behind positive change and service development.

In this full-time position, you'll collaborate closely with the OT stroke leadership team, ensuring a flexible and dynamic approach across the pathway.

You will work closely with acute and rehabilitation services ensuring consistency of care delivery and optimising patient flow. Delivering evidence-based stroke interventions, you will ensure person centred care through coproduction, promoting goal focused service delivery. You will be a mentor, provide training, consultation and education on all things OT and stroke.

Collaborating with the OT stroke leadership team, you will contribute to the continued development of a high-quality evidence-based OT service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
