Main purpose of the role...
You will provide administrative, maintenance and systems support for LIMS ensuring efficient and effective responses to all relevant stakeholders. Providing technical support to Laboratories for LIMS and client related issues/queries (eg. reporting, job information & Test Methods).

As a Systems Co-Ordinator you will carry out and lead on project work as directed to assist with and facilitate setup of new testing requirements, contracts and systems.


Key Accountabilities...

  • Coordinate all aspects of SLIM implementation & development including training and equipment issues in order to achieve technical consistency & improve performance of UK labs.
  • Act as project lead/manager on any LIMS projects including but not limited to transition to new LIMS, performance/functional testing
- +and client initiatives.

  • Train laboratory employees so they understand SLIM to help ensure compliance with UK laboratory procedures.
  • Ensure training materials and procedures are updated and maintained.
  • Provide technical support for all UK Laboratories to resolve quality / technical issues to ensure customer service standards are maintained.
  • Act as company representative during external audits/ client visits as required, ensuring a professional approach is protrayed
  • Provide on site technical support for project implementation as required.
  • Assist in the development and supply of KPI management statistics for UK laboratories performance on monthly basis supporting the Quality & Technical Managers and to ensure compliance with quality system procedures.
  • Assist in the development and design of solutions to drive laboratory efficiency as directed by the Digital & Innovation Manager.
  • Promote and develop a commitment to continuous improvement and adherence with SGS's quality systems in all areas of the business,, following up audits and CARs/SIRs by completing actions on time to drive quality
  • At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and clients, in line with the Company's policies and procedures and to ensure the I&E business maintains its ISO 45001 status.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company's Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct, and at all times adopt behaviour in accordance with SGS UK's Equality & Diversity policy.

Skills & Knowledge
Essential

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to work under own initiative and with a high degree of autonomy & maturity.
  • Ability to identify training needs and deliver appropriate training as required.
  • Fully conversant in MS Office.
Desirable

  • In depth knowledge of the petroleum industry
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of IP, ASTM, and BS methods.

Experience
Essential

  • Presenting ideas and delivering training to a range of audiences
  • Basic system administration experience
Desirable

  • LIMS administration.
  • Identifying training needs of a team.
  • Working in a busy testing laboratory.
  • Petrochemical industry experience.

Qualifications:


Essential

  • Min. GCSE Maths and English grades A to C or equivalent
  • Full driving licence valid for the UK

Desirable

  • HND/BSc in Chemistry, IT, related Science or equivalent.
