Description

What you're going to do:

As our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager you're the connection that brings the whole team together. After a short settling in and training period you're going to be pivotal to our future plans. We're enhancing our current policies and procedures and wewant you to guide and deploy them throughout our company.

You'll be working with our Head of Operational Excellence to deliver our ambitious plans, as well as line managing a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Officer.

The job is varied and it's going to keep your brain busy.

You're not going to be sitting in a back-office writing risk assessment after risk assessment and waiting for 5pm to come along.

If that's what you're after, then carry on searching.

This is a varied role, and no two days are the same.

Sometimes you could be working on health and wellbeing initiatives in the office, other times you'll be problem-solving on the factory floor, helping us remain safe whilst becoming more efficient.

Either way, it's safe to say you won't get bored working for us.

At times it might be challenging, but you will feel rewarded at the end of a project when everything comes together.

Not put off yet? Amazing. Let's get into the details.

How you're going to do it:

  • You're going to review our paperwork and make sure everyone's safe whilst we're at work. We're not all perfect, but with your help we'll be pretty close.
  • We've been developing our safety management system for a while and you're going to be there when it goes live.
  • You'll help to write and deliver training plans for everyone's health and wellbeing.
  • With 200+ in the team there's a lot of us to look after when it comes to our safety & wellbeing. Some days you'll hit your 10k step count by lunchtime speaking to people, but don't worry our safety shoes are really, really comfy.
  • We know we said you weren't going to sit in a back office doing risk assessment after risk assessment; but let's be honest here, sometimes they just need doing. Take satisfaction in knowing the world's a better place because of your hard work.
  • We always want to know how we're improving and we'll need you to make beautiful graphs and charts so we know we're on track.

We would welcome applicants for this Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role with the following skills and attributes; health, safety, wellbeing, Health, Safety, and Environment Manager, construction, risk assessment, NEBOSH, leadership, health & safety, document control, Level 5, first aid, mental health.

Benefits:

  • 30 days holiday inclusive of statutory days
  • AVIVA AE pension scheme
  • Life cover 1.5 times salary
  • Length of service loyalty holiday

Additional Information Core hours of work are between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Essential Skills
What we're expecting from you:

  • You're going to know a fair bit about health and safety. Operating at this level, we would expect you to already have your NEBOSH Diploma, or coming towards the end of your studies.
  • You're going to have a fairly good knowledge of H&S law. We're not expecting you to know everything, but you'll know what's right and where to find and answer if you're not so sure.
  • We want someone who can make amazing documents that make for easy reading. You've got an eye for detail and can spot a typo at a thousand paces.
  • You know all the usual office software packages and hopefully you'll be able to show us a thing or two as well.
  • You're able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and do lots of walking. Our sites about 9 acres, your step count is going to go into overdrive.
