Responsibilities

There is a variety and breadth within this internship, and you could find yourself within our pricing, capital or reserving teams.


You can expect to be:

  • Working on projects will include preparing and analysing internal and external data for pricing purposes, working on inflation calculations, modelling claims cost for current & future customers, and assisting with implementation and optimisation of pricing algorithms
  • Working within the capital area which includes updating assumptions in the internal capital model and assisting with the allocation of capital to individual business units.
  • Supporting the team with estimating claim reserves using modelling software and Excel. Developing current processes for increased accuracy and efficiency, collating and managing inputs to/outputs from the Reserving process.

You will need to have a zest for learning and a willingness to be hands on in the role.


You will need to be a Graduate in your penultimate year of study in a Mathematics, statistics, or other highly numerate discipline.

The best attributes to have for this role are:

  • Effective communication skills teamed with problem solving abilities
  • Strong numeracy and mathematical skills
  • Basic programming and technology skills (Excel, VBA, R)
