Job Description:
- The role is for a Stores/Material Handler to join our established Team. The successful applicant will receive, identify, store and deliver a wide variety of _manufactured/purchased_ parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipment. This role also labels, packs, and loads items for shipment according to specifications._
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work from shop orders, receiving reports, material requisitions, repair order lists and/or verbal instructions to identify disposition of materials_
- Receive, identify, issue and store material/parts in established location using appropriate identification method_
- Fill and distribute basic material and repair orders_
- Label, pack and load items for shipment according to specifications_
- Unload incoming trucks as directed; inspect for damage; compare items and quantities received against freight bills_
- Maintain records of all items received and shipped_
- Perform cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy_
- Detect defective materials, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions_
- Operate materials handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or organize storage_
- Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues_
- Regularly and effectively communicate and interact with other team members_
- Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly fashion_
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures_
- Be prepared to undertake other tasks within the business if required_
- JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management_
- Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload._
- Ability to cope with varied responsibilities and work as an individual or as part of a team._
- A drive and determination to succeed._
- Be selfsufficient and adaptable._
- PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Computer skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook etc._
- Forklift truck licence/experience_
- The ability to understand new concepts quickly and a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge_
