The position holder is employed as an Inspection Planner and reports into the Inspection Senior Planner.


The Inspection Planner is required to progress his/her identified job tasks in a diligent and efficient way as directed by the Senior Planner and Operations Manager as required.

Develop integrity plans and controls that will be inserted into client asset plans. Assist project teams with the development of individual planning skills and knowledge. Develop Ad-hoc plans, where required for tendering purposes and any other operational management requests. Provide planning support and assist other Bilfinger planners with any queries or issues. They will ensure that these activities are implemented in a safe and effective manner.

They will carry out these duties in accordance with the company procedures and to the high levels of service expected by the company.

The Inspection Planner will strictly adhere to the company's principles of independence and impartiality.


Main Responsibilities

Customer Facing

  • Assist with all project planning operations in conjunction with client/s representatives
  • Communicate progress of operations through liaison with clients on a regular basis
  • Ensure that all client expectations are delivered
  • Follow up customer enquiries and demands promptly
  • Identify and react to shortfalls in customer service
  • Cultivate and develop good customer relations

Planning

  • Must be conversant with Primavera P6 and or MS Project software or willing to train
  • Must be conversant with all aspects of construction / engineering & shutdown planning process including: front end aspect, mobilisation and work activity planning
- capable of producing suite of planning reports, ie histograms, Plan Vs actual
- capable of aligning plans with SAP / Maximoor willing to learn
- interface with Senior Planner, client planners and offshore supervisors

  • Assist and Prepare VOW/Earned Value reports/progress reporting (weekly, Monthly etc)
  • Assist with integrity plan reviews with client/s prior to integrated asset planning meetings
  • Attend client planning meetings where required
  • Produce individual and integrated asset plans for all activities
  • Provides planning and progress control services to operational teams and project planning status reports to Senior Planner and Operations / Project Managers.
  • Prepares operational plans and programmes as necessary from client documentation.
  • Updates and reviews such plans at intervals based on information received from Project Manager to client nominated deadlines.
  • Assists with the Development of Adhoc plans, where required for tendering purposes and any other operational management requests.
  • Prepares activity plans based on information provided by Project Manager/Estimators.
  • Discuss, analyse and agree any programme changes.
  • Implements agreed changes and prepares revised control documents and plans.
  • Provides planning business support to other contracts to help and support to other planners
  • Provide planner coverage across contracts for holiday or short term absence

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in planning, working in Oil and Gas offshore environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience in working with Primavera P6 and or Microsoft Project
  • Understanding of client CMMS system (Maximo, SAP etc)
  • Experience of working independently and away from home office.
  • Understanding of the execution process of workpacks
  • Experience in fast paced client facing environment
  • Industry Company and Client specific training / safety critical requirements as per Recruitment Procedure BMS-HRREC-VROV0
  • Suitable vocational qualification in Inspection, Engineering or Technical disciplines (Desirable)
  • Diploma in project control to SCQF level 6 or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Advanced Project management in Primavera P6(Desirable)
  • Some knowledge of conventional and ANDT nondestructive testing techniques
  • 2 years' experience related to inservice inspection planning (Desirable)
