What you will be doing:


As a
Design Engineer, you will be working across the
Tideway Tunnel project to deliver the successful and seamless integration of
Tideway Tunnel assets throughout the whole delivery process; safeguarding any site, process, regulatory and statutory requirements and ensuring changes required to operate the new plant as 'Business as Usual' are effectively managed while maximisingbenefits to Thames Water.

In addition to a review of technical submissions from Tideway and their main works Contractors, your role will involve verification and approval of project documentation to be handed to Thames Water prior to system and project handover.

This will involve workingwith stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise.


Key accountabilities include:


  • Review of technical submissions from Tideway and their main works Contractors (TWUL Assets).
  • Provide local design support to Tideway Integration Group's asset protection and construction teams as required.
  • Close out of issues/observations raised by Thames Water's local Field Operations teams in relation to project deliverables.
  • Assessing and reporting project documentation progress, acting to rectify issues, and escalating where necessary
  • Compile an updated list of AIR documents including examples/templates for the issue to Tideway with guidance from TIG's Business Process Manager & Document Controller.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Understand the development of design, construction, and operation of infrastructure or non-infrastructure projects
  • Understand the handover and documentation process of major works
  • Foster a positive Health & Safety culture within the team and contractors, ensuring we fulfil environmental and Health & Safety statutory obligations
  • Have a full driving licence as travel will be required to construction and operational sites across the Thames Water catchment area
