Job Description:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Microsoft 365 Technical Specialist to join our Defence & Security team.


The role of the M365 technical specialist is to work closely with our operational business to support one of our business focussed, national M365 platforms.

You will also be responsible for M365 administration, supporting our technical support teams, training, and maintenance of the environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the operational health of the M365 environment including availability, maintenance, performance, interoperability, reliability, and security
  • Assist in the administration and support of an enterpriselevel Microsoft Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, mobile access, SharePoint (sub sites, lists, libraries, and content) etc.
  • Troubleshoot M365 related issues including connectivity and mobility when alerted by monitoring software or staff
  • Involved throughout the lifecycle of projects you will use your broad experience in Microsoft platforms and enterprise technology architecture (Azure/ M365)
  • Execute, manage, and lead users through the onboarding technical and support process
  • Support and resolve specific user deployment issues
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the current Microsoft 365 tools and keep abreast of the Microsoft roadmap and its impact to our business
  • Interact daily with IT team to provide and share technical issue resolution knowledge and deployment/adoption processes best practices
  • Conduct routine monitoring and analysis to include audit log reports evaluation, system and storage utilisation reports, site and system usage, growth reports, and manage site collection quota settings
  • Training and educating endusers on M365 capabilities and collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, OneNote, Outlook etc.)
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of Microsoft 365 processes and procedures
  • Produce dashboard reports and management information, particularly around the consumption of licenses and resources as well as user adoption of the various components

Qualifications:


Essential:

  • Deep knowledge in M365 technologies with experience of two or more of the following: Exchange, SharePoint, One Drive for Business, Teams.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft 365 for an enterprise and working as part of an IT team
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 migration activities, typically as part of projects or large programmes of work.
  • A minimum of two years relevant work experience focused on the implementation and/or use of Microsoft 365 and Collaboration technologies
  • Must pass both Baseline Personnel Security Standard check and UKSV SC clearance these will be conducted during the probation period and are mandatory for this role

Desirable:

  • Experienced in providing technical support to IT teams and enduser support to individuals
  • Able to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Confident in your ability to report on progress, timescales, outstanding and completed activities
  • Experience in managing and supporting; OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, OneNote, Yammer, SharePoint, and Power Platform etc.
  • Experience in managing and supporting; Intune implementation, migration and administration
  • Experience of M365 management tools for example, Intune, Azure, AAD, and the other M365 management portals
  • Experience administering M365, Exchange, Azure Active Directory, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint environment
  • Experience with data sovereignty situations and options to comply
  • Experience with PowerShell would be a highly desirable skill
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

This is a hybrid role and will require some office working.

Reporting to the Security Controller and based in the Bristol office, you will be a member of the small but growing team supporting our work in the UK Defence sector.

There will also be opportunities to engage in client facing fee earning work from early 2024 onwards.
