Description

Lead Front End Developerrequired by market leading, award winning, global financial services organisation based in North Bristol. This role will be hybrid with 1 day a week onsite with flexibility.


You will have a proven track record in building software which is of high quality, robust and scalable by design, as well as the ability to understand and introduce outside concepts to challenge the status quo or solve problems in software, tooling and process.

You will use your technical expertise to influence technical direction and to mentor junior members of the team.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing and testing code in order to develop scalable and robust solutions, which meet the high performance and availability standards of global financial institutions.
  • Making code changes and unit testing of the code.
  • Investigation of problems and determining the best solution.
  • Collaborating with other developers and other departments.
  • Investigation of problems and determining the best solution.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  • Build credibility with team members and support junior team members by providing feedback.
  • Provide effective, inclusive leadership on technical tasks.
  • Research and evaluate new and alternate third party frameworks for inclusion in future development.
  • Communicate effectively with development managers and other teams.
  • Oversee and assist solutions in technical direction, including by making compromises and building consensus.
  • Demonstrate good leadership qualities by helping to foster enthusiasm and with active encouragement of team members.

  • Strong JavaScript and Angular development skills
  • Experience with using and NPM
  • SCSS
  • Experience with unit and e2e testing tools

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or IT; demonstrable equivalent professional knowledge.
  • Financial software experience is advantageous.


This fantastic role comes with a basic salary between £65,000-75,000 p/a and is accompanied with remote working, free onsite parking for the occasional days in the office, 25 days annual leave (Rising to 28 with length of service), an annual Holiday schemealso lets you 'roll over' up to a maximum of 10 days into the next year, a company pension scheme matching up to 5% of salary with the option to make contributions via Salary Sacrifice and Group Life Assurance to name a few.
