Our Client is looking to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant, this is a full time opportunity, which will be office based in Peterborough. You will be working within a busy and established team.

YOU WILL HAVE:


  • The ability to oversee credit control as well as support and guidance to the finance team and the Assistant Finance
  • Manager.
  • Knowledge of excel, google sheets and formulas is essential as this role will involve daily work with spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and prior experience with credit control is essential to this role.
  • A general knowledge of how to work with CRM systems would be preferred, but not essential.
  • A minimum of Level 4 AAT or who is QBE.

YOU WILL BE:


  • Overseeing the credit control function of finance
  • Liaising with customers to establish and resolve issues around nonpayment
  • Maintain records of all chasing
  • Issue letters for overdue accounts and initiate legal action where appropriate
  • Work with sales team to resolve issues with customers
  • Check for outstanding debt prior to customers attending training events and chase monies
  • Checking accuracy of details and payments taken and ensuring payment plans are set up
  • Oversee and support the sales ledger team to ensure delivery of accurate management accounts in line with specified deadlines
  • Train, mentor and develop the sales ledger team encouraging independent working
  • Assist sales ledger team where required for all entities, including reconciliation of bank accounts, reconciliation of income streams, processing refunds, raise intercompany invoices and other ad hoc duties.
  • Ad hoc purchase ledger duties where required
  • Control the process of commissions due to the entities from external joint venture partners, ensuring accuracy with calculations and formulas
  • Communicate effectively at all levels
  • Assist with queries relating to submission of annual accounts to external Accountants
  • Assist the team where required with office admin and queries
  • Ad hoc duties as delegated by Assistant Finance Manager or Finance Manager
