You should have
- or about to receive
- a PhD in chemistry or in a suitable area of material science, with experience the synthesis, functionalisation and characterisation of organic fluorophores/chromophores or in the synthesis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Experience in device fabrication and characterisation e.g. OLED, molecular junctions, etc. is desirable, but specific training on the techniques we use will be provided.

The position is available on a fixed term basis (3-year appointment) with the possibility of an extension to the end of the project (January 2029).


Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.

Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
