The Role


We are looking to hire two Buying Assistants, an ideal first step for those wanting to have a career within buying, although this is mainly an administrative role.

The aim is to support the buyer to fulfil their brief.


Duties and Responsibilities
The role is to support the Buyer with supplier communications and administrative duties.


Operational

  • Provide administrative support to the department.
  • Create new product codes on the Companies internal system, including all product information.
  • Creating product Specs.
  • Forecast management ad hoc.
  • Waste data ad hoc.
  • Chase samples (red seals / gold seals).
  • Brief in new artwork and arrange samples.
  • Liaise with QC to ensure products are processed and fit for use.
  • Raise purchase orders and then place approved purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Approving artwork / carton marking.
  • Liaise with suppliers and shipping, alerting all relevant parties in good time if a problem / delay occurs.
  • Manage the critical path.
  • Achieve deadlines.
  • Complete customer's New Line Forms.
  • Send samples to customer for approval.
  • Arrange photography for RMS own system and for customer's website.
  • Manage sample room.

People

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all departments internal and external colleagues in order to maintain effective communication amongst cross functional departments.
  • Work as part of a team providing support and training to team members where necessary.
  • Contribute to product development sessions.

Other

  • Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and how purchasing contributes to these.
  • Be proactive in problem solving.
  • Proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Maintain standards of health and safety and general housekeeping
  • Maintain and continuously improve own knowledge of systems and company procedures.
  • Work positively with others to seek out best solutions.
  • Any other reasonable task
  • Ad hoc projects

Salary can be negotiable in line with experience.

Up to £18,000.00 per year
