The Role
Key Responsibilities
- 3 & 4 Axis CNC Milling experience, preferably using ISO, Fanuc or HAAS control systems
- Operation of allocation machines to produce the work identified on issued route card and drawings.
- Check that correct information is provided on the route card, e.g. checking drawing number and issue status match that described on drawing.
- Production of work to the standards and tolerances defined on the drawing/specification or to the company's standards where none are defined
- Signing/initialling route card to confirm that stages of work have been completed to a satisfactory standard.
- Carrying out defined regular maintenance and maintaining good housekeeping in and around your allocated machine(s)
- Be aware of, and try to adhere to, operation times defined on route card, highlight to supervisor when these are not practical.
- Setting tools & producing components to operator layout sheets as provided
- Loading/unloading of CNC machine tools and fixtures
- Ability to select, set and change tools
- Working on highly technical products to tight tolerances and strict quality standards
- To carry out activities additional to the above as identified by the supervisor.
- Follow the requirements of the company's Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety system procedures and the responsibilities defined therein for your job title.
About you:
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Five years + post apprenticeship CNC programming/setting and operating experience
- Working knowledge of ISO, Fanuc or HAAS programming would be advantageous
- Experience of producing conforming firstoffs to drawing and quality specifications
- Experience with modern quality control standards and measurement of parts
- Experience of working to tight tolerances
- The ability to work on your own initiative, good communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
