Description
ResponsibilitiesExamines engineering drawings or specifications to ascertain task sequence, material and equipment requirements
Produces part programmes for CNC machines if required - punches, sheet benders,
Sets and adjusts CNC machines and equipment - punches, sheet benders,
Operates CNC machines to produce parts or tools by punching or bending metal stock or components
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
Oversees the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results
Checks machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality
Ensures all tools are kept sharpened as required
Checks accuracy and quality of finished parts or sub-assemblies to verify conformance to specification using the correctly calibrated measuring equipment
Loads/unloads feed/waste mechanism by lifting stock into position
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs if required
Records all machine actions by completing production and quality logs
Experience
Preferably at least 2-3 years of experience working CNC machines.
Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret Technical drawings
