Description
Many Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions and Special Schools are seeking cover for both daily and long-term assignments.

If you feel passionately about transforming the lives of young people and are a flexible and creative thinker who can maximise pupil engagement, this could be the perfect role for you.

The role

  • The focus of a Young Person Support Worker is to encourage young people to access education, as they will often be very disengaged from schoollife.
  • This would be an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and in some cases have suffered major trauma.
The school

  • You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, in the community and liaise closely with parents / carers to ensure a joinedup approach is implemented across their learning journey
  • The working hours are 8:30am 3:30pm Monday to Friday. This is a termtime only role.
  • There are opportunities for the role to become a permanent position after a qualifying period, so anyone looking for a longterm career is encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

To be considered as a Young Person Support Worker, you will:

  • Be resilient and focused on the best interests of the pupils that you support
  • Be able to demonstrate empathy and understanding, be nonjudgemental and openminded
