Job Purpose:


Reporting to the SVP General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, this is a business critical role with responsibility for defining and implementing a cohesive and consistent Privacy strategy to mitigate all relevant privacy risks by setting appropriate standards, communication and training initiatives, control mechanism and effective management of privacy issues.

  • Championing and strengthening a visible Compliance Culture


Working with a network of Privacy Champions within the affiliates, the Head of Privacy EMEA drives the adoption of controls and processes as well as providing ongoing advice to colleagues throughout the organisation on privacy considerations for new initiatives.


The role would suit an individual with a strong understanding of business risk, expert knowledge of data protection and a pragmatic approach to assisting the wider business to benefit from a strong privacy culture.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Advise and effectively interact with Senior Management at KKI, and the team in the US, APAC and Japan.
  • Accountable for oversight and continuous development of the data protection framework across the KKI region and making sure it is effectively implemented within KKI at all levels of the organisation.
  • Monitor compliance of KKI with all legislation in relation to data protection and awarenessraising activities
  • Conduct and oversee Privacy projects dealing with strategies to prevent company from risk exposure
  • Inform, educate and advise the business and departments on data protection considerations for new and ongoing initiatives
  • Review Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Ensure data processing records are maintained
  • Ensure that breach investigations which involve personal data are carried out effectively and in compliance with the requirements of the relevant data protection authority
  • Manage, motivate and develop the privacy champions in affiliates
  • Collaborate with colleagues in second and third lines of defence to develop monitoring and auditing programmes to assess management of data protection risks

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience gained in a corporate, consulting or law firm (preferable a mix)
  • Experience in an inhouse privacy role, or experience within a law practice
  • A demonstrable track record of establishing and leading a Privacy function in Europe and advising at senior levels.
  • Proven experience of developing and enhancing a Regional Privacy team as well as training programs, policies and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of data protection laws and regulations across KKI regions
  • Experience of working within, or advising, the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry
  • IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM qualifications desirable
  • Experience advising on data protection considerations for direct marketing and remote interactions
  • Understanding of cyber security risks
  • A trusted, commercially astute business partner of unquestionable integrity
  • A resultsdriven professional with the ability to develop and ensure execution of Privacy strategy within a regional matrix environment
  • A selfaware, collaborative and emotionally intelligent team player who possesses the cultural awareness and sensitivity to work effectively across multiple geographies.
