Following a transformative global acquisition, a newly created role of Head of International Tax reporting to Senior Corporate Finance Director.

Managing a team, you will have responsibility to deliver commercially appropriate business solutions, enabling improve profitability and effective identification/management of Tax risks.

We are currently seeking an experienced International Head of Tax to join our tax team in our London Office. Someone who is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment will do well in this position. Our most successful employees are service oriented and work well as a team player.


Some of the things you will be doing:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date tax strategy for the firm, in conjunction with US parent company, consistent with best practice and changing rules.
  • Determining tax risks and working with Global Head of Tax and Senior Director Corporate Finance to assess, prioritise, communicate and address these risks.
  • Ensure that developments in tax law and guidance are assessed and acted upon in a timely and efficient manner. This would include, for example, overseeing the introduction of appropriate tax software, where required by a country's tax authority.
  • Oversee and manage the efficient completion, on a timely and accurate basis, of all of the firm's global tax compliance obligations, including income and corporation tax computations and returns, VAT and sales taxes, and tax payments.
  • Build and manage a worldwide team to fulfil the obligations of the International Tax function. This will include new hires, as well as existing employees.
  • Oversee and implement the construction of an integrated international tax reporting system, which will be able to seamlessly fit in to the US parent's reporting requirements. This will involve producing a strategy to mould differing tax reporting tools around the group into a cohesive and streamlined unit.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of all tax balances in statutory accounts and tax provisioning to satisfy tax and IFRS/GAAP requirements.
  • Provide US parent company with appropriate returns associated with S Corp structure.
  • Supporting management and support global teams with specific tax and finance matters. Linked in part to integration and organization of the new acquisition.
  • Liaison with HMRC and other relevant authorities; ensuring appropriate risk ratings are achieved and negotiating positions as required.
  • Maintain and lead global transfer pricing policies and calculations with review and approval of studies, country by country reporting and local transfer pricing documentation requirements (Master File) in collaboration with US tax team.
  • Oversee and work with finance teams in statutory audits and inquiries by nonUS governmental authorities as well as income tax returns.
  • Work with local finance teams to ensure that tax notes and provisions in financial statements are correct and produced on time.
  • Manage relationships with tax advisors in over 30 countries and closely control budgets for tax advice and assistance.
  • Leadership of the international tax team, ensuring continual improvement, appropriate development of talent and succession planning
  • Implementing appropriate processes and controls to improve efficiency.

What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?

  • A selfstarter with strong International technical knowledge of corporate income tax and indirect tax principles as well as transfer pricing aspects.
years of combined experience from industry and public accounting for International tax within global company

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA is required with knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Experience developing and leading teams, driving success across global locations, and driving efficient processes that can expand insourcing of work from third parties.
  • Experience with Oracle or other major ERP platforms
  • Experience with Corptax, BNA, Power BI and Alteryx a plus
  • Indepth knowledge of direct/indirect international tax, S Corp experience preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across the enterprise as well as excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills while being detail oriented and having the ability to multitask
  • Ability to travel to U.S. headquarters 23 times annually
  • Ability to travel to Amsterdam 12 times annually
