My client is a unique charity based in Central London who are now seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day runnings of the transactional functionfor the charity, in addition to managing a small team.


The key duties of this Financial Accountant role will be:

  • Line management of three members of staff, checking the accuracy of their work and providing ongoing training and development.
  • Take the lead in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Provide crucial support in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Be the point of contact with auditors and preparation of year end schedule.
  • Full responsibility for monthly ledger closures and play a key role in the preparation of accruals and prepayments.
  • Partqualified or be actively studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Proven understanding in preparing and submitting vat returns.
  • Sound knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders
