Currently ranked second overall for Pharmacy and Pharmacology in the Guardian Good University Guide 2023, the School of Pharmacy is a growing school at the University of Lincoln, and this is an exciting new position within the school.

As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape the Pharmacy programmes at the Lincoln School of Pharmacy.

You will be part of an expanding and collegiate team based in the Joseph Banks Laboratories within the Lincoln Science Park.

The School of Pharmacy has access to a wide range of excellent teaching and research facilities and delivers highly successful programmes in Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical Sciences.

It is dedicated to producing clinically astute, work-ready graduates.

As the post holder, you will primarily provide educational leadership in the areas of pharmacy practice and/or clinical pharmacy, which are key elements in all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes taught in the School of Pharmacy.

In particular, you will be active in the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) and Independent Prescriber Training programmes.

However, depending on your expertise and teaching focus, if you did have interests in pharmaceutics or other areas, this may be accommodated in the Pharmaceutical Science programmes delivered by the School.

Last year, the MPharm programmes achieved General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Part 1 accreditation against the latest GPhC Initial Education and Training of Pharmacists (IETP) standards and the IPT programme also achieved recent GPhC accreditation.

Using your innovative teaching and learning skills, this role will give you the opportunity to make a significant contribution in the future development of the School's programmes and the wider pharmacy profession, and you will have a major impact on the skills development and preparation of a new generation of future pharmacists.

The post holder will work closely with programme leads, other academics and key stake holders to ensure an excellent student experience and will have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with a broad range of professionals across the University and its professional partners.

The postholder will have excellent communication and leadership skills and be adaptable to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Applicants will preferably be a pharmacist registered with the GPhC or Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland and preferably with experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

Unregistered applicants must be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of current UK pharmacy practice.

The University of Lincoln is situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city and was named as the Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.
