About Us:
Hatching Dragons is the UK's first bilingual Chinese-English early years education provider.

We have two successful schools in central London serving hundreds of families over the 5 years we've been in operation and now we're thrilled to be responding to surging interest from the community in Rotherhithe to open up a nursery school on the banks of the River Thames, opposite Canary Wharf, in the midst of a rather beautiful nature reserve and in a jaw-droppingly beautiful building....opening in April 2021.

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Qualified Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator to join our Canada Water Nursery and the team that will manage our 25 preschoolers (2-5 yrs of age).

You will be working in a team of 5 staff, including the room leader, but in joining the team so early on you stand a good chance of being promoted to both Deputy Room Leader and, when / if the Room leader becomes deputy manager for the school as a whole, the Room leader for the baby room.

Skills:

Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills
Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues, advisors and parents/carers
A good understanding of the EYFS
Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities
The ability to model, motivate and support staff
Problemsolving skills
Basic IT skills
Able to plan and manage own and others workload

Preferred

Performance art (i.e. dancing, drama), calligraphy, painting, cookery, children's science, math, literary

Experience

Experience of caring for, or working with children aged 3
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above
Good knowledge of Ofsted requirements for the provision of safe care to children
Knowledge of health & safety requirements for the environment
Knowledge of safeguarding
Experience of working in a small team, supporting colleagues with peer on peer observations.
A commitment to the provision of highquality childcare.
Being able to deliver a tough message in a fair way
Supporting nursery marketing events experience
