About Us:
Hatching Dragons is the UK's first bilingual Chinese-English early years education provider.
We have two successful schools in central London serving hundreds of families over the 5 years we've been in operation and now we're thrilled to be responding to surging interest from the community in Rotherhithe to open up a nursery school on the banks of the River Thames, opposite Canary Wharf, in the midst of a rather beautiful nature reserve and in a jaw-droppingly beautiful building....opening in April 2021.
The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Qualified Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator to join our Canada Water Nursery and the team that will manage our 25 preschoolers (2-5 yrs of age).
You will be working in a team of 5 staff, including the room leader, but in joining the team so early on you stand a good chance of being promoted to both Deputy Room Leader and, when / if the Room leader becomes deputy manager for the school as a whole, the Room leader for the baby room.
Skills:
- Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills
- Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues, advisors and parents/carers
- A good understanding of the EYFS
- Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities
- The ability to model, motivate and support staff
- Problemsolving skills
- Basic IT skills
- Able to plan and manage own and others workload
- Preferred
- Performance art (i.e. dancing, drama), calligraphy, painting, cookery, children's science, math, literary
Experience
- Experience of caring for, or working with children aged 3
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above
- Good knowledge of Ofsted requirements for the provision of safe care to children
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements for the environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding
- Experience of working in a small team, supporting colleagues with peer on peer observations.
- A commitment to the provision of highquality childcare.
- Being able to deliver a tough message in a fair way
- Supporting nursery marketing events experience
