Description

Strategy and Deployment:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive power procurement and renewable energy strategy for GKN plants global scope
  • Work collaboratively with GKN stakeholders (H&S group Sustainability Team and others) to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
  • Study trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that will allow for optimal value proposition to GKN plants globally.
  • Review energy markets to identify cost savings opportunities for GKN plants and Technology Centers operations globally.
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG strategy in line with GKN environmental commitments
  • Work with energy consultancy providers and local/regional energy regulators to work out guidelines that enable broader GKN strategies and objectives.

Supplier Management

  • Measure and monitor supplier performance followup and manage all necessary action plans to ensure ESG targets are achieved
  • Lead and support commercial negotiations with key suppliers to ensure budgeted commercial target achievement (negotiation, resourcing, efficiency, demand management etc.)
  • Support GKN plants with any critical supplier issues
  • Ensure robust and appropriate supplier risk assessments conducted in accordance with Group and divisional policy/procedure

Resources & Management:


  • Ensure IDM buyers in the plant are aligned and adhere to strategy, targets supplier panel etc
  • Develop and share Best Practices.
Reporting and System

  • Ensure transparency and accuracy of data in the purchasing information systems.
  • Consolidate commodity report on a monthly basis
  • Adhere to internal procedures and statutory requirements for compliant environmental procurement and storage of all materials.
  • Adhere to all relevant requirements of the GKN Integrated Loss Prevention policy and local regulations.
  • Strong Project Management skills with ability to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to extract relevant insights to develop sourcing strategies and support negotiations
  • Experience in conducting business reviews and developing communication plans
Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure full alignment of developed strategies with senior stakeholders

Qualification and Skills (Energy Sector)

  • 5+ years of experience working in utility / energy / energy consultancy areas at regional/global level with proven background in energy project finance, power trading, energy procurement incl. PPA and VPPA agreements experience
  • ESG strategy development experience
  • Deep experience in global wholesale power markets and understanding of principles and key drivers of energy hedging strategy
  • Exceptional analytical skill set to support review of electricity procurement strategies, utility tariffs, energy projects and power contracts with ability to extract relevant insights to develop sourcing strategies and support negotiations
Strong Project Management skills with ability to manage stakeholder expectations

Experience in conducting business reviews and developing communication plans

  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record for developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior executives and stakeholders in highimpact situations.
  • International business acumen
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Passionate environmentalist with CO2 footprint reduction and clean / renewable energy mindset
