You will have a minimum of level 2 in Maths and English, relevant experience, and will have excellent written, oral communication and good IT skills.

It will be advantageous if you have an accounting/finance qualification.


Salary:
£23,395 - £25,599 per annum (F/T salary)

£9, £10,618.47 per annum (P/T, TTO salary).

Job Summary

Main Activities

  • Supporting the Director of Student Services and the Pastoral Manager in establishing and implementing effective procedures to manage and administer the Learner Support Fund and Bursary process in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhering to operational guidelines and standards to ensure clear direction on processes, training, tasks, priorities, and deadlines and have high levels of customer care.
  • Positively promoting the service to students on various platforms both internally and off site (and ensuring that all students, parents, and teaching staff) are aware of the financial support offer and eligibility requirements at the start and during the year to include induction, student bulletin, study space, website and posters.
  • Advising and giving guidance on the Learner Support Fund to students, partners, management on the effective administration of the bursary fund to ensure communications is clear and accurate and provided within a timely manner.
  • Managing the oyster card process and TFL Innovator software for 18+ learners.
  • Overseeing the process for taking payments for exam resits and entering student information on to exam forms.
  • Working with Finance and MIS to prepare payment reports from our systems in a timely manner and in particular accurate weekly files for payment periods for use by the College Finance Team and funding bodies as requested by the Director of Student Services or Pastoral Support Manager.
  • To carry out administrative tasks, preparing reports for the College and to monitor in conjunction with the Pastoral Support Manager or Director of Student Services the income and expenditure from Finance against planned income and provide management reports as requested.
  • To stay up to date with internal and external developments, through written materials, the intranet and through communications cross college teams and Marketing.
  • Working with the Director of Student Services, Pastoral Support Manager, Finance, MIS to prepare data, reports for any statutory returns, claims required by Local Authority, Charities, funding agencies in relation to student financial support.
  • Ensure that the Student Finance service complies with all GDPR regulations and to undertake the role of Data Protection for the area, carrying out any activities including audits and training, as required by the Director of Student Services/Pastoral Support Manager.
  • To treat all written and verbal information supplied by students and staff with discretion and in the strictest of confidence, filing & storing away information in a timely manner.
  • Managing confirmation of study letters / references relating to students.
  • Providing regular data and feedback on the students in receipt of financial support to the Pastoral Support Manager, Director of Student Services, Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality, Head of School and SLT.
  • Taking personal responsibility for supporting, promoting, and following all College policies in relation to health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity and data protection within the scope of the post.
