The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provision in Nailsworth, Stourbridge, Sheffield, Birmingham, Pembrokeshire as well as an associated site in Darlington and an independent specialist school in Sheffield.


We provide innovative and experiential education for children and young people with special learning needs, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.


Overview:


An exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Data Quality and Systems Assistant to join the team based from Glasshouse College in Stourbridge or Argent College in Birmingham.

Benefiting from a fully funded and structured Level 3 Data Apprenticeship programme.


The Role:


As a Data Quality and Systems Assistant, you will receive on the job training and support whilst providing first line user support to staff as required using the management information systems, including dealing with operational problems such as password resets and account setup.


Salary:

£17,920 - £20,431 per annum.


Duties will include:
[but not be limited to:]


  • Support the Data, Quality and Systems Managers with regular and adhoc administrative tasks, such as quality assurance checks.
  • Monitor and respond to issues raised in the centralised support system.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new projects.
  • Support the design, development and maintenance of the Trust's management information systems.
  • Support with the submission of statutory returns, such as the Individualised Learner Record (ILR).
  • Support for dealing with user problems on the data management systems, including training staff to create, amend and maintain reports as requested by Users and Managers.

What we are looking for:


Essential skills and experience:


  • Good knowledge of Windows
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Products, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Good organisational skills
  • Confident and enthusiastic user of ICT
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster and maintain collaborative working relationships and sharing of good practice
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of discretion and confidentiality
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, well organised, good communicator
  • Willingness to learn about various technologies and their use within Ruskin Mill Trust

Desirable Experience, Skills and Experience:


  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly competent Microsoft Excel user
  • Experience of using PowerBI or equivalent reporting dashboards
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft SharePoint

Entry requirements:


The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

Working week:

40hrs a week.


Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.

QA's apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.


To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
