ABOUT THE PROPERTY
W Edinburgh will bring bold architecture and a vibrant lifestyle offering to the Scottish capital.

Behind a façade featuring a winding steel ribbon - reflecting the city's festival spirit - this 12-storey structure will be the centerpiece of Nuveen Real Estate's Edinburgh St James Quarter, incorporating retail, leisure and entertainment facilities along with residential apartments.

This W hotel aims to help redefine the city's hospitality landscape.

Accordingly, it'll fuse the brand's signature amenities with modern design and W Happenings, highlighting what's new in design, fashion, music and culture.

The new W hotel will accommodate guests across 244 stylish guestrooms, including 42 suites. While staying here, guests will benefit from the brand's signature Whatever / Whenever service philosophy.


A real highlight of this property will be its rooftop bar and outdoor terrace, pairing exciting cocktails and cuisine with 360-degree views over the historic city.

Among the other noteworthy amenities planned are the W Lounge, a restaurant collaboration with
SUSHISAMBA, a FIT workout facility and an AWAY spa, with special functions hosted in 2,450 sq ft of modern event space.


ABOUT THE ROLE


Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Travel Industry Account Director - Travel Industry Sales at W Edinburgh will be a member of the sales team, responsible for driving consortia, leisure and wholesale business from different markets.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and switched-on

As Account Director - Travel Industry Sales, key aspects of your role will include:

  • Work with the Director of Sales to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for your responsible segments
  • Travel to key feeder markets on business trips to build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to create leads for future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Analyze market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve the property's financial room and catering goals/targets
  • Works collaboratively with GSOs, Convention Bureau, 3rd party intermediaries and other hotel counterparts to drive revenue, ensure customer satisfaction and increase market share.
  • Participate in various industry sales calls, tradeshows, roadshows, throughout the year both domestically and possibly internationally, in assigned market sources to educate and generate awareness
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in various community and professional associations and industry
  • Conduct site inspections with clients as well as coordinating FAM tours to ensure they are conducted in a methodical fashion adhering to the core standard.
  • Develop account strategies to capture new consortia key accounts
  • Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals/targets. Effectively manage customers budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs and identify opportunities to upsell products and services throughout the sales process.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external through sales calls individually or with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business
  • Work collaboratively with offproperty sales channels to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, etc.)
  • Responds promptly to incoming inquiries within their market segment and follows up to ensure utmost guest satisfaction.
  • Develop teamwork throughout your team and with other departments
  • Play a significant role in training and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the bran
