Description
CK Group are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to operate Gas Chromatography and GCMS equipment, with a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in Chester on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client manufactures chemicals that are used in the household, food and related industries.
As part of the QC team, the successful Gas Chromatography Technician will be involved in a range of activities relating to the analysis of manufactured oils.
Youwill test quality parameters of all incoming raw materials, intermediates and finished products. The company offers a competitive salary, depending on experience.Location:
The GC Technician will be based at the company's site in Chester.
QC Technician Role:
Your main duties will be to:
- Operate required lab equipment, perform basic preventive maintenance, perform equipment verification/ calibration, be involved in analytical method validation, troubleshoot malfunction of equipment.
- Liaise with the QC supervisor and manager, internal department with regards to tracking and prioritizing samples requiring positive release.
- Initiate actions to investigate customer complaint in consultation with relevant team members.
- In absence of QC supervisor, take up the critical jobs in consultation with seniors.
- Assist in meeting all GLP and Safety requirements
Your Background:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or Food science
- Proven industry experience of hands on GC and/ or GCMS analysis strongly preferred
- Experience gained as an analytical chemist or QC lab technician working with Densitometer, Refractometer, Moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrator etc. would be beneficial
- Knowledge of lab safety and GLP
- Good Sensory Evaluation skills
