Credit Control Technical Specialist | Permanent | up to £30,000

The Company
My client is a leading provider within the UK support services in their sector


The Role


The ledger management - credit control department is responsible for maintaining broker / company / third party accounts, investigating all entries processed to ensure that cash settled is correctly recorded and cleared against relevant technical entries.

Providing accurate debtor / creditor figures for our clients.

Various ledger systems and many bespoke client packages are use in parallel to Microsoft office 365 software. This assists with the manipulation of data to produce MI reporting in line with the agreed procedures and SLA's.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the controller to deliver quality standards and service level targets through effective use of expertise. Enhancing the team's level of technical expertise and knowledge of ledger procedures and systems.
  • Overseeing the daily and monthly cash book maintenance.
  • Cash allocation and maintenance of related documentation.
  • Maintenance of client's ledgers, Non-Bureau and Bureau (Xchanging / Lloyd's).
  • Data validation.
  • Investigation / resolution of both legacy and current cash issues.
  • Statement issuance and reconciliation of statements received. Requesting settlement of agreed balances.
  • Raising payments and obtaining required authorisations.
  • Risk, Prm and claim written / paid bordereau management. Bordereau upload to TIDE.
  • Overseeing central mailbox administration.
  • Managing queries to and from internal / external parties.
  • Creation and issuance of MI / client specific reporting.
  • Provide credit controller intervention where necessary, monitoring & negotiating commutation settlements.
  • Participate in broker / client / third party visits.
  • Review and update of client procedure manuals.
  • Commit to own personal development.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Cert CII qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Market knowledge, structure, practices and regulation.

Can demonstrate strong rounded knowledge & understanding of various insurance operations with expertise on complex business.

Demonstrated understanding and experience of Ledger management, Credit Control practices.

Knowledge of resource planning.
