NHS Professionals require pro-active and hardworking Estates Operations Officer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to join the Estates & Facilities team at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham

JOB SUMMARY

To be responsible for the provision of highly developed specialist service, technical and administrative advice and support to the Deputy Head of Estates (Operations), including support to all estates personnel within the maintenance function of the Directorate.

To undertake delegated work associated with estates operations and maintenance activity.

To be responsible for managing and complying with all statutory instruments and guidance ensuring best practice related to the effective operation of the Trusts estate.

Provide specialist and professional operational maintenance expertise and advice to senior management of the Trust and external agencies.

To manage and prioritise own workload and provide specialist advice in relation to Operational maintenance and undertake duties covering:

Risk assessment
Operational and technical advice
Audit and inspection of operational estate safety
Liaison with the external inspectorates and other statutory authorities
Development and implementation and review of the organisation's operational safety policy and procedures
Assist in the development and implementation of the organisation's operational estate maintenance strategy
Ensuring an appropriate level of management is always available by the establishment for the safe and effective management of the Trust sites or premises

The post holder will be based at Queens Medical Centre but may be required to work from any premises operated by Nottingham University Hospitals.

Personal Specifications

Professional qualification in an engineering discipline
NEBOSH general certificate would be desirable
Experience of mechanical estate management
A good overall understanding of the following engineering specialties

(Medical Gas Pipeline Systems, Heating and Ventilation, Air Conditions, Sterilisers, Asbestos

Good knowledge of

(LPHW Systems, DHW & CW Systems, Steam Plant & Systems, BMS Systems, Sanitary Systems)
