We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, calm and caring Thrive Practitioner, Price Trainer and Inclusion Officer to join our team.

This post will be based at our Oakfield site at Golden Cross.

The role is to work as part of a team to provide supervision, support and guidance to a number of pupils by removing barriers to learning, in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning and raise aspirations.

Experience of working in the special educational needs sector is desirable but not essential.

Our set up in Headstart is very unique.

Our grounds are surrounded by a variety of animals that the children like to look after and learn through the activities planned with them.

This person would share our passion for supporting our students in the outdoor environment as well as in the classroom.

This person will work with young people with a range of significant barriers to learning including autism, attachment disorder, communication difficulties and sensory processing disorders.

Headstart School is an independent special needs school which was established in 1999. It has a proven track record of success with learners on the Autistic Spectrum including those with complex needs.

Places are available for students from age 5 to 16 and following onto our Post 16 courses up to the age of 21.


Headstart School has the benefit of two sites: both situated in the East Sussex countryside, one on the outskirts of the village of Ninfield and the other at Golden Cross.

The school admits up to fifty students across both sites complemented by a large qualified experienced staff team.

This high ratio of qualified staff to student and our unique approach is what we believe to be our strength and the main reason for our success with students who have struggled in other academic environments.

Annual Salary:
from £20,137 to £25,137 depending on qualifications and experience.
