Role Overview


This position is suited to a clinically trained individual, with exceptional communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare outcomes and data including its potential to drive improvements for customers and Bupa.

This role will work with the Group Medical Director, wider Group Clinical Team, Group Strategy & Transformation, Group Tech/Architecture, Group Privacy and Market/Business Unit teams to demonstrate the potential of healthcare date and outcomes in new and existing Bupa services.


  • The role will act as a central source of expertise within Bupa on healthcare data and outcomes by:
  • Proactively assessing the latest external developments in healthcare data and outcomes
  • Identifying examples of best practice within and external to Bupa, and effectively communicating these to demonstrate the potential of data across our businesses
  • Providing clinical expertise into wider Group Clinical, Transformation and Data/Architecture projects to ensure the clinician perspective is represented and that clinical benefits are realised
  • Developing and delivering data and outcomes educational and information resources for our people
  • Representing the Group Clinical team at internal and external events, positioning Bupa as a Global Healthcare Leader in data and outcomes
  • Working as part of the Standards, Outcomes and Data team, the role will support additional priority workstreams, in particular the development of chronic disease management and wider operational Group standards.
  • The role is a key member of the wider Group Clinical team and will support other team directorates including healthcare insights and the healthcare strategy and promotion teams. This will include reviewing materials produced by other teams for their clinical relevance, accuracy, and potential impact.
  • The role will require the individual to deputise for the Group Medical Director on occasion.

What you'll do:


  • Appraising and defining the future of clinical healthcare developments supporting their clinical and commercially successful implementation within market and business units;
  • Ensure timelines are beaten or maintained in terms of committed delivery with respect to key executive team's ambitions (e.g. digital transformation, provision/digital footprint, genomics);
  • Driving innovative approaches to clear clinical transformation projects that are in line with executive team ambitions;
  • Deriving clinically acceptable, commercially viable clinical products in allocated domains across multiple market units, accepting heterogeneity of product delivery in line with local market regulation and delivery capabilities;
  • Supporting and executing transformation in ways of working across teams to deliver innovative products and services that are valued by our customers, faster to market;
  • Support teams globally to collaboratively evaluate and implement potential opportunities by considering a variety of factors from a clinical, customer and commercial perspective;
  • Drive Bupa's strategy for 2025 and beyond through market scanning, trend analysis and translating CEC priories into attainable and delivered strategies for the business globally;
  • Work with senior stakeholders to analyse customer data and business performance to identify areas of potential growth;
  • Develop and implement a customercentric approach to enhance customer experience;
  • Work with the clinical evidence and horizon scanning teams on key emblematic projects e.g., genomics and support the delivery of the Global Healthcare Transformation Director's objectives;
  • Actively engages across Market and Business Units with functional teams including Strategy, Risk, Clinical, Procurement, Legal and Operations Management to seek out opportunities that are in line with the business needs and to ensure requirements are delivered, performance tracked, and operational efficiencies are maximised.

What you'll bring:


  • Medical degree preferred; other postgraduate clinical qualification considered.
  • Extensive experience working within a healthcare provider or funding organisation with relevant data and/outcomes experience.
