What you'll be doing

We are looking for an exceptional assistant to join our Hachette Group Digital and Online sales team, working across Hachette's publishing divisions.


The role is varied, you will be working with team colleagues and with the wider publishing business to ensure the highest quality and professional standards of account support for the Online and Digital sales team.


Tasks range from working closely with Amazon to optimise how our titles are displayed, to preparing for sales meetings, analysing sales patterns, running reports and generally supporting the Digital and Online sales team.


You should have an interest in digital and online sales and have an inquisitive mind and be eager to learn.

This role is a great opportunity to work in publishing sales and learn about Online and Digital sales.

Who we are looking for

  • Support and assist the digital and online sales team, delivering a high level of service to customers and colleagues, with a good understanding of how each function operates
  • Coordinate sales material (including PowerPoint presentations), liaising with colleagues outside the department where required.
  • Produce sales data when required, including assisting with running and distribution of monthly reports
  • Develop, by forming relationships with customers and sales colleagues, a knowledge of customers, markets and products, the daytoday operation of the sales team, and an understanding of the publishing process and the financial imperatives and drivers of the company
  • Management, use and reporting from the Amazon Vendor Central platform
Publishing and/or sales experience would be an advantage, as is any form of experience in an office environment.

You'll need to be proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and ideally have some experience with data analysis.
