NAAFI have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Coffee Shop Supervisor ready to take the next step in their career to work on an exciting new venture.


We have recently launched a coffee shop in the beautiful cathedral town of Winchester and are seeking a passionate, energetic, hardworking and dedicated individual who will be responsible for supervising at the coffee shop.


Please note that the successful applicant must be flexible with days and have the availability to work both during the week and at weekends. The applicant must also have the flexibility to work extra hours as and when required.

Role:


To be passionate about customer service and the NAAFI brand by ensuring NAAFI provides a first-class level of service to all our customers.


Manage and motivate your team to achieve your outlets targets and to continuously deliver and maintain excellent standards through all aspects of your offer.


Protect and promote the NAAFI brand by assisting in educating your team and our customers about our non-profit retaining status and what we do to support our British Armed Forces through on-site service or NAAFI Funding.

Ensure our customers and colleagues have an enjoyable NAAFI experience and become NAAFI advocates. Always use integrity and respect in all aspects of your daily duties.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for managing the daytoday operation and compliance of your site, inline with all NAAFI policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for supervising staff and deputising for the Coffee Shop Manager in their absence.
  • Responsible for all areas of your team's development and performance to ensure they deliver a positive customer experience. All customers should be greeted and served in a proactive, courteous, friendly, and helpful manner and all food and drinks should be prepared and served in line with the food safety and quality requirements. All brand standards are adhered to.
  • Responsible for liaising with commercial team/suppliers regarding the ordering of stock and stock control, and with risk management regarding performing monthly stocktakes.
  • Responsible for ensuring that food safety procedures as per specific country legislation are followed including the implementation and monitoring of compliance for HACCP, allergen book, Health & Safety, staff training records and any documents required for Food Safety inspections.
  • Responsible for providing a safe environment for our staff and customers in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act. This includes ensuring that all daily, weekly, and monthly management checks are in place and appropriate actions taken as and when required.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective controls around stock management, cash management and employee performance and assisting the line manager in monitoring and maximising sales opportunities and minimising waste and cash loss.
  • Supporting the line manager in recruitment of new team members
  • Responsible for managing the employee lifecycle by ensuring staff inductions are completed and encourage an environment which promotes high quality standards in all areas, effective employee relations, a focus on employee welfare and effective communication, as well as, supporting the manager in providing clear direction to the team in all elements of processes, policy, and compliance.
  • Responsible for maintaining updated training records and ensuring they are available for inspection as and when necessary.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining positive and constructive relationships and liaising as necessary with all relevant outside agencies and stakeholders.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be appropriate and required from time to time.

Requirements of the role of Coffee Shop Supervisor:

  • A minimum of at least one years' coffee shop supervisory experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Food handling experience
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene (desirable)
  • Cash management/POS experience
  • You will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to show resilience under pressure
  • You will be selfreliant with the ability to use your own drive and initiative to resolve problems
