When you join our University, you become part of a truly diverse and global community of staff, students and alumni all focused on ensuring that we are recognised for the excellence of our people, research, learning and innovation, and for the benefits we bring to society.

The University is a world-leading research and teaching institution with a wide range of IT systems and platforms serving more than 75,000 stakeholders worldwide.

The Associate Director of Technology is an executive role within the Directorate of IT Services, accountable for a comprehensive approach across all areas of the University and its international centres.

Working with the Director of IT and contributing to the ongoing technology roadmap through the implementation and development of technology from Cloud (AWS & Azure) Services, Dev/Ops and the delivery of innovative new technology, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the University achieves its ambitions for the future.

You will lead and manage the Technology function, overseeing a team of around 80 staff and an IT estate including Infrastructure Services, IT Operations Centre, Platforms (DevOps) and Infrastructure Programmes, to manage and build state of the art technology that will transform the University's ability to adapt and innovate services.

You will provide clear direction for the IT Directorate and ensure continuous improvement by developing people and processes that support the vision, mission, and core values of the University.

As a member of the IT Executive Team, we are looking for a professional who is values-led; blends authentic, emotionally intelligent leadership with technical expertise; and has a proven ability to deliver the technologies and strategy required to enable the University to achieve its ambitions.

In such a multi-layered, multi-faceted and multi-stakeholder setting, your professional judgement, insight and ability to influence strategic direction will be key to your success.
