The job itself:


A vacancy has arisen to work for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council within the Learning, Skills and Workforce Development team.

In this role you will be responsible for the development and delivery of high quality, responsive and efficient leadership, management and corporate learning and development opportunities for the council.


The role will suit somebody who has a coaching and mentoring background and who is familiar with delivering PRINT or other similar personality profiling tools and/or facilitating discussions with staff.

Your role will focus on determining training needs, planning and delivering a range of learning and development opportunities to staff at all levels, including the delivery of the Council's leadership and management training programme.


This is a varied and integral role within the Learning, Skills and Workforce Development team and you will work very closely with the Principal Learning and Skills Officer in order to ensure that all learning opportunities provided meet the requirements and standards of our quality framework.


Whilst your role will look inwards to the corporate learning and development for staff at all levels you will also be part of a multi-functional team that also faces outward, delivering a range of learning opportunities and employment support programmes to residents and working in a commercial way with partners and stakeholders.

You will be required to work in a functional way across the team to ensure that we maximise efficiencies and achieve good value for money through the effective and efficient use of resources.


Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or above and / or a relevant teaching or training qualification and have an excellent knowledge of planning and delivering training opportunities within a diverse and multi-functional organisation.


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Learning, Skills and Workforce Development team in a senior position and will be suitable for a self-motivated, highly organised and resilient individual.

You will need to have a creative mindset, a can-do attitude, drive, commitment and enthusiasm in order to deliver on the ambitious and exciting aims of the Learning, Skills and Workforce Development team and the strategic plans of the council.
