Job Summary

The Production Controller will be responsible for managing Customer product from receipt of raw materials through to launch, production, finished goods and despatch to the customer.

They will be responsible for supporting production through management of a smooth and level material flow to achieve budgeted sales plan.


Key Task and Accountabilities:

  • Receive, analyse and respond to weekly customer requirements.
  • Plan and report customer deliveries status and associated problems on a regular basis.
  • To monitor and expedite Works Order launches, investigating root cause reason for late launch of parts.
  • Maintain W/O due date accuracy and correct errors in the database.
  • Review Aged WIP with Operations Team on ongoing basis, coordinating further customer orders or proper disposal as required.
  • Attendance at daily Production meetings, reporting work order progress, and monitoring key plans to aid in ensuring targets are met.
  • Escalate concerns over material shortages or any other production issues.
  • Close liaison with all intercompany departments on daily basis to resolve issues affecting Production / Logistics.
  • Manage and control exception plans, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.
  • Ensure throughput is aligned with weekly sales forecast.
  • Liaise with all departments on bottlenecks and key KPI's including testing, FAIR's, manning, machine availability etc.
Essential Experience/ Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience of with Planning or Production Control would be preferred.
  • Experience within Manufacturing or Engineering process driven businesses preferred.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Used to working in a pressurised environment, with particular regard to tight downtime constraints
  • Computer literate in general computer packages.
