Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust has developed and integrated primary care with community-based services within the Dudley healthcare system since 2020 with its core aim being community where possible and hospital when necessary.

Our purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of our local population in Dudley.

We are currently working with organisations within the health care sector in Dudley and the Black Country System to look at the best way to continue to deliver the services to our patients.

As such this service will transfer to BCH over the course of the next 12 months.

This is a trainee role within the Dudley NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression (DTT).

The post-holder will work within the DTT service providing high volume low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role.

The training post will equip the post-holder to provide a range of low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to clients at Step 2, with mild to moderate anxiety and depression across a range of media


To provide comprehensive assessments and treatments for clients presenting with common mental health problems using evidence-based psychological principles and working within the context of primary care services.


To make decisions on suitability of new referrals into the service, and refer/signpost clients on to other relevant services or back to the referral agent as necessary.

Offer patients a choice of treatment pathways available based on a stepped care model approach and NICE guidance.

Deliver low intensity psychological treatments at step 2 of the stepped care model supporting patients with self-management of common mental health difficulties

To conduct risk assessments with clients and to take appropriate action when necessary.

Work closely with supervisors in line with the stepped care approach.

To adhere to agreed clinical activity relating to the number of client contacts and clinical sessions

To ensure and maintain clinical records and reports in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and professional standards

To attend a university course & attend regular supervision sessions as required by the training programme.
