We are a care provider offering specialist 24-hour care and support to Asian women with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Operating from one care home and three small supported living units in Finchley, we pride ourselves on our dedicated and passionate team.
We provide ongoing training through our award-winning partner and offer fully funded CACHE or NVQ qualifications.Job Purpose
The Team Leader will oversee and maintain the day-to-day operational care of clients within the Care Home, ensuring health, safety, and care standards are met at the highest level.
About You
Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Acquired or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Equivalent Experience
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Proven ability to manage care staff
- Team player
- Genuine interest in working with the relevant client group
- Satisfactory DBS Check
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Experience/qualification in caring for adults with learning difficulties and/or mental health problems
- Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience
Main ResponsibilitiesManaging the Floor - Day-to-Day Care
- Delegate tasks and monitor their completion
- Review toileting and fluid charts for necessary actions
- Record and address incidents properly
- Ensure activity timetables are followed and document reasons for missed activities
- Promote healthy activities and wellbeing
- Ensure timely and highstandard personal care
- Conduct spot checks on residents' bedrooms
- Monitor residents' food and fluid intake
- Ensure residents return on time from activities, taking action if needed
- Administer prescribed medicines and maintain records
- Handover key information to management and night staff
- Report any complaints, incidents, or unusual occurrences
Health & Safety
- Report illnesses or accidents immediately
- Implement the Care Home's Health & Safety policy and procedures
- Act as "Responsible Officer" in the absence of the H&S Officer
- Report faulty appliances or hazards
- Promote safe working practices
Training & Development
- Shadow and perform spot checks to ensure staff competence
- Provide training on manual handling
- Contribute to staff supervision and attend mandatory training
General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including whistleblowing, complaints, and equality procedures
- Participate in staff and client meetings
- Maintain the Care Home's presentation and safety standards
- Secure the Care Home and maintain confidentiality
- Notify management of any inability to report for duty and ensure the return process is smooth
- Adhere to all NMC guidelines and Care Standards regulations
