Band 4

Up to 1.0 WTE / 37.5 hours (West Edinburgh)

This post is within the West Edinburgh Community Team.

The post-holder will be expected to provide speech and language therapy support for children from a given geographical area within designated clinics and will include school and nursery visits where required.

The children have identified speech, language and communication needs and may have further additional support needs such as ASD or hearing impairment.

The speech and language therapy service is innovative and supportive. It is committed to the principles of clinical governance to provide a high-quality service focused on the child's needs. Support is provided for therapists and assistants in district based and clinically focused teams.

All therapists and assistants have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a variety of CPD activities.

SLT assistants need to have Enhanced PVG clearance and experience of working in childcare settings. Applicants should possess strong organisational and IT skills.

It is essential that you are familiar with Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and that your written and spoken language skills are of a high standard.

It is desirable that you have previous experience of Boardmaker Picture Library, although some training on this can be provided.

You will be part of a busy team often working to tight deadlines and must be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.

Part time working will be considered.
