Health & Safety Officer


This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to be part of this well-established company, responsible for the implementation of the policy across three sites.


About the role


You will be responsible for supporting and advising the management team in all aspects of Health & Safety and provide guidance on best practice.

You will create, review and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with H&S regulations.


You will be required to manage your time effectively and will need to be a driven individual with the ability to work independently, as well as within a wider team.


Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Ø To ensure the company H&S policies and processes are implemented and carried out and across all sites, as well as keeping up to date with regulatory changes accordingly.

Ø To be the champion for all H&S matters on site.

Ø To develop H&S strategies and policies.

Ø To carry out site inspections and review the effectiveness of the H&S Management system identifying areas of improvement.


Ø To hold H&S Meetings and distribute subsequent minutes and actions, ensuring that all agreed actions are completed with the relevant departments.


Ø As required, carry out accident investigations producing supporting documentation which outlines root cause analysis and what corrective actions may be needed.

Keep records up to date and share the learnings with the management team.

Ø Create, review, and train out risk assessments.

Ø Standard Operation Procedures (SOP's) and SSOW to be developed and reviewed.

Ø Review, develop and monitor training.

Ø Source external training providers as required.

Ø Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations.


Competence and Qualifications
Ø It is desirable that you have experience in a Health & Safety manufacturing role.

Ø Experience in creating, maintaining, and updating H&S Management Systems & processes.

Ø Up to date knowledge of current regulatory requirements.

Ø Full Driving Licence.


Ø Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly demonstrate and convey concepts to staff on various levels.

Salary range is based on full time and will be pro rata to the number of hours agreed

£25,000.00-£27,500.00 per year

Experience:


  • H&S in Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • IOSH (required)
  • NEBOSH (preferred)
