Job overview

To provide effective and efficient administrative support service to the Training Leads and SpR medical workforce in Radiology.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting college tutors in aspects of rota management/general support.


In undertaking this role, all employees will be expected to behave at all times in a way that is consistent with and actively supports the principles listed in the Consultation Document on the creation of the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

Provide administrative support to the Guardian of Safe Working in line with the Junior Doctors terms and conditions of service (contract rules 2016)


Process the junior doctor rotas to cover all aspects of the services across QMC and City hospital sites, liaising with HR to support the delivery of the on call rota and distribute this to Switchboard as per Trust requirements.

Assist in updating all clerical/administrative amendments to the rotas and update these on shared drive


Liaise with HR to arrange swaps from junior doctors and keep an up to date record of leave and swaps and arranging short notice cover.

Escalate all areas of concern to the College Tutors or Admin Service Manager

Attend meetings in relation to Radiology SpR medical workforce and document minutes where required.

Support Radiology tutor with inductions including updating the SpR passport photo sheet, ensure Radiology SpR rotating have all necessary items including ID badges, IT log ins, laptop distribution, shared area access and IT drives access

Managing SpR dose badges and ensuring communication with Medical Physics on a monthly basis

To assist Body secretary with the organisation of the annual Regional Radiology educational event (Roentgenfest)

Assist with arranging regional teaching related to the FRCR programme and all related administration.

This role will provide support to the clinical educator who in turn will improve the training and support provided to staff entering the radiology department.


This role will support the educator and the growth of the medical workforce in Radiology by ensuring a supported learning environment for the new doctors to the Trust.

This will help staff to feel cared for and to stay with the Trust. The experience of a new staff member is paramount for them remaining with the department and further developing.

The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
