Willerby Methodist Church, HU10 6JP seek to appoint an
Older Persons Worker on 12-month FTC basis to cover a period of maternity leave.
- In accordance with the Equality Act of 2010 it is a genuine occupational requirement that the successful applicant is a practising Christian._
The Older Persons Worker will manage and deliver a number of activities offered by Willerby Methodist Church to the older people in the local community, helping older people explore their faith and coordinate our interaction with organisations such as MIND and AGE.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- To plan and lead the existing activities for older people (lunch club twice a month, coffee mornings twice a month, the men's brunch club once a month and the weekly warm spaces offering to the local community)
- Maintain a data base of volunteers to support the above activities
- To work with the minister and Church Safeguarding Officer to ensure compliance with the Church's Policy on Safeguarding creating a safe space for all
- To establish and build relationships with outside agencies (such as MIND, Age UK and the local authority)
- To identify issues faced by older people in our community
- To help older people to explore Christian faith in creative and dynamic ways

- Hours of work: 16hours per week On a 1year FTC to cover a period of maternity leave (Worked flexibly in agreement with the successful applicants line manager)
- Rate of pay: £11.99 per hour
