Nursery Practitioner - Midlothian - Various Locations

Salary:
£12.89 p/h PAYE + holiday pay and pension


The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting Early Years Practitioners for a variety of Early Learning Centres based around Midlothian.


Key responsibilities:


  • To provide a care and support for children 05 years that meets their individual needs, including acting as key worker for children.
  • To work as part of a team responsible for developing life skills in children, contribute to the planning and implementation of a balanced curriculum for children. Provide a caring and stimulating learning environment to enable children to develop and achieve.
  • Provide a service compatible with GIRFEC practice and within the policies and procedures of Children's Services.
  • Contribute to the activities of the centre and support the delivery of planned learning activities through active involvement to stimulate children's interests, aptitudes and abilities.

Qualifications and experience:

You will have previously worked in a nursery, pre-school, early years centre or similar setting and will have one of the following qualifications:

  • Minimum SVQ 2 in a qualification relevant to early years / childcare.
  • SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level and be registered with SSSC as a _Practitioner in a day care of children service_ (we can endorse your registration if this is not the case).
  • The post holder must be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of early years practice, local and national policy, research, legislation and documentation.
