Industrial EM product Designer (full time role)

AD Series Displays Manufacturing Ltd is a technology business based in the UK and China.

We manufacture commercial tablets and electronic PCB based solutions for customers worldwide, Predominantly in the Transportation, medical, F&B and Retail sectors.

We currently have an opportunity for a Electro Mechanical Designer.

we work closely with our customers to understand their specific project requirements to develop safe, cost effective and industry leading solutions.

Working as part of a small engineering team and working in Electronic display and housing environment, you will be responsible for producing layouts, detailed drawings and bills of materials for numerous design projects.

And assisting in ensuring these are passed through prototyping to final quantity production.


About the Role:

To assist the Design team in creation / development of exciting new and innovative premium product, to include;
-
Concept design & development

• Support the Design and Technical teams in creation of concept ideas to help generate initial prototypes for evaluation
• To help develop product concepts, integrating technical designs and constraints
• Creating accurate technical documentation in response to client requirements
• Providing technical input for use in tender and proposal documents

New product development process

• Ability to understand technical constraints when creating designs for our product range.
• Work with suppliers to communicate design intent and manage cost and time constraints.
• Work within the Design and Engineering team to uphold brand intent and realise concept visions.
• Creation of onproduct graphics including Brandmarking, regulatory labels layouts / and 2D artworks for global ratings labels.
• Develop product variants.

Desirable skills

• Minimum of two years industry experience.
• Degree educated with experience working in a Design consultancy or consumer products company.
• Proficient in 3D CAD. Ideally using SolidWorks
• Ability to interpret briefs and communicate ideas with fluent / confident hand sketching skills.
• Must have a sound knowledge of 2D Design packages in particular SolidWorks and the Adobe Suite.
• Ability to create high quality detailed housing designs and visualisations.
• Ability to manage external suppliers in the creation of of prototypes.
• Selfmotivated, with a positive and proactive approach.

About You:

• HNC / ONC qualification (or equivalent) in a Technical or Engineering discipline and have served a technical apprenticeship within an Engineering environment
• Prior experience of product design including use of sheet metals detailing
• Significant experience of using 2D & 3D CAD..
• Strong PC skills including all Microsoft Office packages
• Ability to deliver competing priorities to tight deadlines
• Ability to manage external suppliers in the creation of visual models or prototypes.
• Selfmotivated, with a positive and proactive approach.

£20,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
