What is the role?
We have an exciting opportunity to join Southampton Football Club as a Head of Estates.

The purpose of this role is to lead the development and improvement of our sites and the Estates and Grounds teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring that we run and operate each of our sites in an efficient, safe way and to a high standard in line with our sustainability strategy.


What are we looking for?


To thrive in this role, you will have previous experience working as a senior manager in a stadium, arena or events environment, and have extensive knowledge of ISO management systems and developing a "customer first" approach.

You will have excellent communication, influencing and planning skills, along with the ability to build and deliver clear strategies which meet business and commercial needs.

It is important to us you have exceptional interpersonal skills in order to build good relationships with various stakeholders.

Other competencies which are required include:

  • Implemented dashboards and systems to provide data and reporting around energy/utilities use, environmental performance, accident reporting and overall performance against sustainable development criteria.
  • Senior leadership experience and knowledge of how to engage with key stakeholders. Comfortable working as part of a senior management team and in offering ideas or practical solutions.
  • Experience of project scoping and managing complex technical specifications in a live project environment.
  • Experience of managing competing stakeholder expectations; delivering clear, concise progress reports and managing contractors in a collaborative way.
  • Extensive knowledge of developing a "customer first" approach.
  • Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or a similar discipline or a senior IWFM qualification.
  • Advanced Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH diploma or similar) and other relevant H&S qualifications. This should include being fully acquainted with the requirements of the CDM Regulations to ensure all projects are always fully compliant with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Technical understanding of building services engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of good governance procedures and budget control.
  • Project management qualification.
  • Risk management qualification.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and financial control.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail especially in budgeting.
  • A good team player who is willing to delegate work appropriately and work to improve others.
  • Strong leadership skills and a desire to improve processes and people.
