Events Manager (Healthcare)
Hybrid - London / Portsmouth with Homeworking

£35,000 plus discretionary bonus linked to agreed KPIs (up to 35%), enhanced Compass benefits


Compass Recruitment Solutions (CRS) is looking for a commercially minded Events Manager to take ownership for all aspects of the internal and external events across all Compass offerings.


A multi award-winning health, social care, specialist education and life sciences recruitment and executive search organisation, CRS provide a full integrated service offering of senior search services, head office appointments and recruitment of skilledmanagers within businesses via offices in Portsmouth (HQ), Manchester, London, and Raleigh, NC following our first international launch into the US in January 2023.


About the role


As part of a newly created position, the Events Manager will work closely with both the Content, and Design teams in the marketing function to create a clear strategic map of all appropriate external industry affiliate opportunities, take control of ourinternal events program, and support the creation of a clear roadmap for the long-term in-house events program.


You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a clearly defined events calendar for the year across all subsidiary brands
  • Compass Associates, Compass Executives, Compass Life Sciences and Compass Corporate Services
  • Spearhead the planning, coordination of internal and external stakeholders, execution and collaboration postevent with the content and design teams to support the creation of outstanding thought leadership, valueadd content
  • Internal "End of Quarter" events, requiring close coordination with the Co-Founders to deliver these highly anticipated events to an outstanding standard, alongside the Content team to ensure internal comms and postevent comms are effective

What we are looking for
- provide new and innovative ideas for the events function
- have a good understanding of modern events trends in terms of market-drivers, and consumer demands, in order to ensure CRS provide the most appropriate, current, and varied events
- have previously worked in an events role and have had close working relationships with other aspects of the marketing teams to ensure a coordinated approach with all stakeholders achieved
- demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of the purpose of each event - ensuring positive outcomes for both participants and wider marketing opportunities generated through the event thereafter
- ideally have had exposure to the privately owned, and private equity backed health, care, specialist education, and life sciences industries (not essential)
- be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, and be willing to widen industry awareness if any health / care / education / life sciences sectors are unfamiliar to you
- support the long-term strategic view of ensuring all CRS subsidiary brands are accommodated with appropriate events geared to their target audiences
- be exceptionally organised with meticulous planning skills


The Events Manager will coordinate with appropriate consultants at various stages post-event to quantify ROI - ranging from leads, assignments mandated, through to placements made or revenue generations and long-term repeat or new business success.

Throughclose analysis of its effectiveness will have a direct impact on whether the event will be repeated at another stage - enabling refinement and continuous improvement for the events function long-term.
