Description

You will support the management of NHS Digital's Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) information security initiative across the Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT), providing advice and direction to all staff, including the IT Service team, IT Projects and IT Infrastructure Team on information and cyber security, governance and assurance.


You will work closely with the other senior IT managers allocated to the service portfolio and assist in protecting and improving the cyber security posture of the organisation working in alignment and collaboration with other NHS organisations, central NHS functions as well as trusted cyber authorities.


  • Overall management of the information and cyber security role across the Trust technical estate
  • Implementing midterm (12 years) compliance, performance and information security (IS) strategies and related policies
  • Establishing, managing and implementing a range of compliance, performance and Information Security projects that will support organisational objectives and the NHS Digital Cyber Security programme
  • Provide the technical lead in supporting the response to any cyber attack or risk across the Trust technical estate, including risk analysis, reporting and maintaining communication channels between stakeholders
  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance, performance and information security system resources
  • Ensuring that the Trust scans for vulnerabilities periodically using the latest Cyber security products
  • Providing robust, effective and responsive compliance, performance / and Information Security
  • To review new IT technologies and projects for compliance with policies for: ICO, NHS Digital, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Cyber Essentials scheme
  • Ensuring CareCERTs issued to the Trust are recorded and actions plans are put in place to rectify any vulnerabilities
  • Ensure the Trust has appropriate Cyber Security training and guidance in place
  • Review and consult on all privacy impact assessments involving IT and new technology
  • Ensuring that the Trust maintains its current Cyber Essentials certification status

Additional Working Pattern: 7.5 hours per day
