As Marketing and Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a variety of activities across the organisation.


Overview of the role


The post holder will work alongside colleagues in the team to implement a range of marketing and communications activities which position and promote HI NENC, and its strategically planned programmes of work.


The Marketing and Communications Team delivers a wide range of digital and traditional activities to position the organisation, promote its programmes and support members and partners across the regional healthcare and life sciences sectors.


The post holder will be expected to undertake duties across the marketing and communications landscape, with a focus on the creation of digital and traditional content, database development and management, website management and data analysis, and internal communications.

Job Title:

Salary:
Starting at £28,700 per annum (dependent on experience)


Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)


Contract Type:
Permanent


Place of Work:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure that colleagues in Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) understand, and contribute to, communications objectives, and to gain an appreciation of the work being carried out by the wider HI NENC.
  • Support the creation of digital content for communications channels including films, animations and podcasts.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the HI NENC Marketing and Communications team to maintain and develop the Mailchimp mailing lists and templates, ensuring that contacts are managed in line with GDPR data protection regulations.
  • Development and creation of bespoke communications content for presentations, case studies, brochures, website, social media, programme toolkits, event support materials, etc., that reinforce key messages, and highlight impact, value, and the achievements of the HI NENC, and its programmes.
  • Represent HI NENC, and the national Health Innovation Network, at internal and external events, meetings and conferences and support the delivery of events as required.
  • Support the implementation and management of the national and regional brand identities, in line with guidance, across HI NENC and with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Engage effectively with external stakeholders and commercial partners, including national stakeholders, to support attainment of the HI NENC objectives.
  • Promote the values of HI NENC.
  • Ensure effective communications within and between teams, be involved in and participate in meetings as requested.

Strategy

  • Provide input into, and support the delivery of, marketing and communications plans, to position and promote the national Health Innovation Network, HI NENC and its programmes to staff, Member Organisations of HI NENC, and other partners/stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the overall development, implementation and success, of the marketing and communications strategies and plans of HI NENC.
  • Support the planning and implementation of marketing approaches, including audience targeting, dissemination management, measurability, data analysis, and customer segmentation.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or possessing equivalent experience.
  • Indepth knowledge of creating and managing marketing and communications activities to position and promote a range of complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  • The ability to understand and convey information that underpins the objectives of HI NENC, and an awareness of the health and social care landscape.
  • The ability to create digital resources such as short films, 'talking heads' and podcasts.
  • An understanding of the requirements of working as a regional partner, within a national Network, and its interactions with wider agencies and partners.
