We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer for the following module:

  • Workplace Health and Wellbeing
  • 27 hours over the summer term
  • 9 evening sessions


You will have knowledge of and experience of delivering undergraduate modules related to Workplace Health and Wellbeing and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrable professional/industry level experience).


Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are:

  • Specialist disciplinary knowledge in the field of work and wellbeing or a related field
  • Relevant teaching experience, ideally working with adult learners within the HE undergraduate environment
  • Experience of and a willingness to develop a wide range of assessment methods
  • Experience of marking coursework and exams and giving good feedback
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as required
  • A good knowledge of IT including Moodle, Birkbeck's Virtual Learning Environment
  • Willing to engage in reflective practice
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • A postgraduate teaching qualification
  • Industry experience

Remuneration:


Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £63.55 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.

This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a 'Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
