We are looking to recruit a Workshop Assistant/Material Handler on a permanent staff basis for our manufacturing client based in Tullos.


Job Summary

  • Assisting general operations in the Machine Shop.
  • Coordinating and storing all returned tubulars in the yard.

Overview job description

  • Complying with the company's Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Moving materials by forklift and crane as necessary.
  • Operating phosphate tank and bead blast unit.
  • Sorting materials and store in appropriate bay.
  • Processing goods received and submitting to the office.
  • Liaising with the Rental Department to clarify equipment in stock.
  • Responsible for load out of customer and Rental equipment.
  • Ensuring all stacks are in a safe condition.
  • Assisting the Yard Foreman in the effective management of the yard.
  • General housekeeping inside and outside of the Machine Shop.
  • Slotting and stamping any relevant identification as per work instruction.
  • Posting inspection, ensure all swarf is removed from product and any necessary coatings are applied.
  • Loading and unloading material and tools from deliveries ensuring relevant paperwork is checked and submitted to the office.
  • Ensuring ID numbers are stencilled on incoming tools for identification.

Applicants to this role require

  • Forklift Licence (desirable).
  • Secondary School Education or equivalent.
  • Banksman Slinger.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Manual Handling.
