About you

You will receive the highest calibre of training through our John Deere accredited apprenticeship program which takes a total of 3 years to complete.

During this time, you will be shadowing a dedicated and experienced mentor who will help to enhance your learning of the trade.


Throughout the three years training, you will attend block training for two weeks at a time, up at the dedicated John Deere training centre in Nottingham.

There are 4x two week blocks across the course of the year and you will attend with the other apprentices across the company starting at the same time.


At the end of the course, you will be aiming to qualify as a Level 3 Land Based Service Engineering Technician which is a fantastic achievement and one that will help to set you up for the rest of your career as fully qualified Service Technician with Hunt Forest Group.

About the role:


Full time - Permanent
Position - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm**- Performs basic service tasks & develops skills in removal, disassembly and reconditioning of components.

  • Assists Technicians as needed.
  • Reports weekly to a mentor or Service Manager regarding ongoing activities and progression.
  • Learns to maintain the condition of inventory, tools and equipment.
  • Learns to maintain a clean work area and performs work in a professional, neat and orderly fashion.
  • Learns to complete reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
  • Participates in Service Training programs required, mostly DLMs, for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Spends time in all departments to understand the workings of a Dealership.

Relevant Skills/Experience:


Essential:

  • Genuine interest in agricultural and/or turf machinery
  • Motivated and keen to learn with a positive can do attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as a team
  • Equally able to work from own initiative
  • Able to proactively ask questions to enhance learning
