Summary:


Medlock Partners are delighted to be partnering our client, a large and hugely successful International Service provider as they look to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to take the lead in driving their overseas expansion forward.

Based at their head offices in Cheshire and reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead a small accounts team and take full responsibility for all regulatory and financial reporting, full suite of management accounts and tax returns for all entities.

As the business prepares for rapid growth internationally, my client requires a disciplined and highly organised Senior Finance professional to review and implement robust financial controls that are fit for purpose and in line with financial regulations.


Role requirements:

  • Manage and lead the US Finance Team (currently 2 direct reports and 2 indirect reports) who are responsible for all aspects of the day to day finance of the US Division.
  • Review periodic management accounts and weekly financial reporting for all US entities.
  • Responsible for submission of annual budgets and reforecasts throughout the year.
  • Responsible for all Regulatory financial reporting and the Revenue Audit function.
  • Submission of relevant tax, Use tax and Federal Excise tax returns for all US entities.
  • Calculation of Revenue shares and agreement of these with relevant partners.
  • Approve biweekly US Payroll and calculate costings for USA Payroll.
  • Assist in the set up of new US entities and liaise with US tax advisors to set up the relevant taxes.
  • Main Finance contact for overseas head office, regulatory bodies and partners.
  • Main contact to provide US information to Internal and External Audit Teams.
  • Adhoc work as required.

Experience and skills:

  • Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years postqualification experience.
  • Must have experience of managing and leading a team.
  • Experience of US taxes preferable not essential.
  • Experience of dealing with colleagues in different time zones (preferably US).
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills and able to meet strict deadlines.
